An amazing journey to Tswalu in South Africa. Being named one of the top most luxurious and exclusive places to live in, it certainly did not disappoint. This place is most accessible from Cape Town, as they have a private plane available to charter guests right in. (Feel like a celebrity yet?) However, as we came all the way from Johannesburg, we drove instead for about 9 hours till we reached the lodge. The experience i must say started even from before we reached the stay. We were pleasantly greeted by a guide before reaching, and was guided along on the drive in. They most certainly know how to make an impression.
Seeing that this place is even bigger than my own country (Singapore), I am pretty amazed at how they could manage to upkeep their standards. From clinic to butchery within the compound, it is literally a full community in itself. But yet still preserving nature as best they can for both the wild and us. Knowing that we were staying in 1 of the 9 suites gave us the exclusivity we wanted on this trip. And guess what? The next suite was occupied by the National Geographic team. So i guess at least we know this is as best as to how close we could get to the wild.

Throughout the stay here, I was given enough privacy when needed. And yet they took care of my needs seamlessly. From preparing a bottle of water with my name on to keep us well hydrated, to doing our laundry and pressing them before sending it back to us the next day. Food and wine was ever flowing at any time of the day. I do believe the living experience here has surpassed any other places I’ve been to or lived at. But this is just one of the many stories of this amazing place. More to come on the next few posts.
“Tswalu, you’ve stolen my heart!”
